What this talk is about
The Hang Theory. A lecture series by Hang Dallas.
One speaker. One big idea. One good room.
Where · 2700 SWISS Event Space.
Dr. Tracy Everbach examines how misogyny operates as a system, not a series of isolated incidents. The talk traces the mechanics of contempt for women across institutions, from newsrooms and universities to the case of the Cornell 7, looking at how dismissal and hostility get normalized, justified, and transmitted. Dr. Everbach is a journalism professor at the University of North Texas who teaches race, gender, and media. She has publicly addressed academic censorship at UNT, including AI syllabus reviews and the removal of art exhibitions, and participated in the April 2026 teach-in 'The Freedom to Teach and The Right to Learn' focused on censorship and academic freedom.
