Good Questions

Things people actually ask.

One speaker. One big idea. One good room. Oh, and there's a drink in your hand. We're not a classroom and we're not a bar night. We're somewhere in the middle, where you actually learn something worth talking about and then stick around to talk about it.

Nope. If you've ever been curious about something and had nobody interesting to talk to about it, you're our kind of person. No art degree required. No vocabulary test at the door.

Most people do. You'll show up not knowing anyone and leave with a few people you actually want to grab dinner with. That's kind of the whole point.

It depends on the event. Every listing spells out exactly what's included, but you can generally expect the event itself and a room full of people who chose to spend the evening doing something worthwhile instead of doom-scrolling. Check the event page for specifics. Members skip this question entirely — reserving is included and unlimited.

One monthly price, every lecture and poetry night. No tickets, no checkout — reserve and show up. Founding members lock $59 for life; there are only 100 of those. The whole story lives on the membership page.

Nope. Members tap reserve and their seat is held until doors. Member seats are limited per event though, so reserve early — when member seats run out, regular tickets still work.

Reserve a seat, skip the event, and never cancel, and there's a $10 fee — a held seat is a seat someone else wanted. Cancel up to 24 hours before doors at no charge, and we'll email you reminders before the cutoff so it never sneaks up on you.

Members can add the +1 guest pass ($25/mo) and every reservation becomes two seats — your guest comes with you. Everyone else: bring whoever you want, they just need a ticket.

We follow Luma's policy. Refunds are available up to 24 hours before the event. After that, tickets are non-refundable. If life happens, reach out through Luma and we'll do our best. We're real people. Member reservations aren't tickets, so there's nothing to refund — cancel up to 24 hours before doors without the fee.

Join the waitlist on Luma when you try to register. It kicks in automatically once we hit capacity. Luma holds your payment but won't charge you until we approve you from the list. We check it, we promise.

Show up curious. Be cool to the speaker and to each other. Doors open at 6:30, talk starts at 7:00 sharp so grab your drink and find a seat. Phones on silent. Questions are welcome near the end. That's it. We're not running a courtroom.

Hang Dallas events are 18 and up. Got questions about a specific venue's policy? Reach out before you buy.

Maybe. If you've got one big idea and 45 minutes of it worth hearing, pitch us at Take the mic. We read everything.
