Everything you need to write about us.

Hang Dallas is a community-first art platform built around the people who actually make the work. We throw shows. We host lectures. We run business strategy sessions for artists who'd rather spend their time making things. We connect Dallas artists with the people most likely to love what they're making, buy what they're making, and tell their friends.

We're starting without walls, which means we can show up wherever the audience already is. A permanent space is where this is headed. The community is how we get there. We're not in a rush. We're building it right.

We don't think buying art should require a degree or knowing the right people. We don't think making a living as an artist should require a trust fund. Hang Dallas exists because neither of those things needs to be true.

The founders

Christina Trester — Creative Director, Hang Dallas

Christina Trester

Creative Director

Christina is a fine art wildlife and nature photographer who has been making pictures since she was thirteen. She left corporate America in 2022 after a trip to Kenya made the decision for her, and has since built a full-time practice spanning print sales, gallery exhibitions, and small-group photography expeditions across all seven continents.

She knows the working-artist side of this business firsthand: the art fairs, the pricing conversations, the collector relationships, and all the unglamorous logistics in between. Hang Dallas exists because she spent years building that infrastructure alone and figured no one else should have to.

Jorge Herrera — Managing Director, Hang Dallas

Jorge Herrera

Managing Director

Jorge spent more than two decades building operations that actually work, across enterprise companies like Aon and global service organizations spanning financial risk, tourism, and non-profit work. Before any of that, he ran the Dallas Handmade Arts Market, a weekly indoor marketplace on Cole Street that gave local artisans booths, foot traffic, and a real shot at selling their work. It also gave Dallas free wine on Saturdays, which we consider a public service.

Hang Dallas is that idea, grown up. Artists deserve infrastructure, not just exposure. Jorge builds the systems, the logistics, and the boring-but-essential machinery so artists can focus on the part only they can do.
